Crowds

When I started this project I wanted the viewers of my art to not relate to the paintings but to look at them the way they view a human crowd. I felt that cows were a good way of doing this because they are a large factor of the location that I’m in.

I started to draw the cows in a linear way and decided that they would look good as a repeat pattern. I experimented with several motifs, before deciding that they looked good the less well you could interpret them as cows.

For my final piece, I got three pieces of transparent Perspex and drew the spiral of the cow motif onto each of them. I finished by layering the Perspex pieces on top of one another to give the effected of the crowd having depth.
